Abstract
A Jobin Yvon hydride generation system without a gas-liquid phase separator was employed for the determination of As, Bi, Se and Sn by the ICP-AES met hod under various experimental conditions. Influence of forward power, NaBH 4 flow-rate and sample flowrate on analytical line sensitivities and detect ion limits of the determined elements was examined and discussed. Applicabi lity of the JY IMAGE spectrum acquisition system to the determination of th e hydride forming elements was investigated. The As, Bi, Se and Sn signal s uppression due to matrix effects of Na, K, Mg and Ca was observed. The hydr ide generator was used also for the simultaneous determination of hydride a nd non-hydride forming elements.
