M. Okubo et al., Preparation of micron-sized, monodispersed, anomalous polymer particles byutilizing the solvent-absorbing/releasing method, COLLOID P S, 278(10), 2000, pp. 919-926
About 2-mu m-sized polystyrene (PS) particles having uneven surfaces were p
repared by a post-treatment in which toluene-swollen PS particles were thro
wn into a methanol bath to release toluene therefrom rapidly. The posttreat
ment was named the "solvent-absorbing/releasing method". The PS particle ha
d large dents at the surface. The size of the dents was changed by the cond
itions of the posttreatment.
