COMPUTER METHODS IN APPLIED MECHANICS AND ENGINEERING
A technique of approximating boundary layers in viscous flow simulations wi
th significantly stretched elements is presented: The elements are introduc
ed automatically within a framework of a general mesh adaptation strategy.
The discrete equations are effectively served with a GMRES procedure precon
ditioned by the block Jacobi or Gauss-Seidel iterations. Numerical examples
of flows with shock-boundary layer interaction and the Reynolds number up
to 2.10(6) are presented. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserve
