Abstract
The utilization of recently developed numerical techniques for assessment o f the state of corrosion and consequences for the safety of old steel bridg es subjected to dynamic forcing is submitted in this paper. A parallel proc essing wave approach together with up to date numerical approaches for the calculation of corrosion damaged old steel bridge dynamics are treated. The results of numerical and experimental assessments of the corrosion damaged steel bridge in Rendsburg, Germany, are submitted, evaluated and discussed below. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd.
