Abstract
Picorna-like insect virus RNAs direct an unorthodox form of translation ini tiation at a non-AUG-related codon, without involvement of initiator tRNA. This seems to involve a special type of mRNA pseudoknot structure which all ows bypassing of the usual P-site-dependent mechanism. (C) 2000 Elsevier Sc ience Ltd. All rights reserved.
