Abstract
Recent findings of low sequence variability of Y chromosome genes has led t o suggestions that the most recent ancestor of human Y chromosomes existed around 50,000 years ago and human population size expanded about 28,000 yea rs ago. But what level of confidence can we have in these estimates? (C) 20 00 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
