Abstract
The accumulation of Cs-137 in agricultural crops grown on old arable and ne wly developed leached chernozems and dark-gray forest soils has been studie d. Significant differences were found between the accumulation of radionucl ides in crops depending on the soil properties, degree of soil development, and biological features of plants. The Cs-137 intake in cereal crops from the newly developed leached chernozems was 5.8-7.2 times higher than from t he old arable soils. Maximum accumulation of Cs-137 was in grain legumes an d legumes, minimum in cereals.
