Abstract
2-Chloro-3-formyl-5,8-dimethoxy quinoline (I) has been condensed with aryl amines to yield azomethines (II) in good yield which were cyclized with thi oglycolic acid and thiolactic acid to yield corresponding compounds III and IV. All compounds have been tested for their antibacterial and antifungal activities.
