Abstract
This paper deals with the possibility and the first measurements of thermal contact conductance of cylindrical joints by the periodic method at high t emperature. The mathematical principle is presented. The calibration of the method is performed on a composite nickel/nickel cylinder, the interface o f which has a controlled macroroughness. The experimental results are compa red with the results of a geometric conductance model. A good agreement is observed. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
