Abstract
We investigate the formation of transverse travelling waves corresponding t o tilted (off-axis) emission in cascade lasers with plane-parallel resonato rs. The interplay between transverse wavenumber selection and the dynamic S tark effect is discussed. When a relationship between these two phenomena e xists for large intermediate detunings, the wavenumber value can be used to distinguish one-photon from two-photon emission processes.
