Abstract
The photoreaction of polysilanes and cyclic oligosilanes with C-60 has been investigated. Photoirradiation of a solution of C-60 and polysilanes in be nzene in a degassed quartz tube at 20 degrees C with a low-pressure mercury -are lamp has afforded the C-60-polysilane adduct in moderate yield, in whi ch C-60 is incorporated into the polysilane chain. A unique electronic prop erty of the C-60 main chain polysilane has also been elucidated. (C) 2000 E lsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
