Abstract
Genetic studies on pigmentation of stem in kenaf were made. The crosse s, green x red and green x green-pigmented stem yielded two different kinds of ratio i.e., 3 : 1 and 9 : 3 : 4 indicating the complex nature : of inheritance. The stem colour is determined by the interaction of three pairs of genes, namely P-p, l-i and R-r.
