Several useful techniques are described for treating power series potential
s. These include: a moving row matrix nested multiplication method for cons
tructing the Hamiltonian matrix; a scaled folding algorithm to find the eig
envalues; and an energy shift method which gives expectation values and eig
encolumn elements. Two test problems are treated using the techniques; in p
articular, it is found to be possible to treat a triple-well problem using
only a simple single-oscillator basis set.
