Raman and infrared spectra were recorded for crystalline adenosine samples
at 300, 150 and 20 K. Data were taken over the entire spectral range from 2
0 to 3600 cm(-1). The wavenumbers of most vibrational modes were found to i
ncrease with decrease in temperature, but those near 3000 cm(-1) showed the
opposite trend. A number of peaks split into multiplets at low temperature
. No evidence was found of any structural phase transitions in this tempera
ture range, Copyright (C) 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
