J. Timar et al., Terminating bands in Ru-98,Ru-99,Ru-100 nuclei: New information on the neutron 2d(5/2) and 1g(7/2) energy spacing - art. no. 044317, PHYS REV C, 6204(4), 2000, pp. 4317
High-spin states of Ru-98,Ru-99,Ru-100 have been populated using the reacti
on Zn-70(S-36,alpha xn) at 130 MeV. The gamma rays have been detected with
the EUROGAM-2 array. New high-spin bands have been established in these nuc
lei and interpreted as terminating configurations using the Nilsson-Strutin
sky cranking formalism. These bands were observed up to the predicted termi
nating states which are built from g(9/2) protons and N = 3 proton holes co
mbined with d(5/2), g(7/2), and h(11/2) neutrons relative to a (90)Z, core.
Core-excited configurations with N = 3 proton holes have been found to pla
y an important role. The observed high-spin states assigned as terminating
show systematic behavior and provide new information on the energy spacing
between the 2d(5/2) and 1 g(7/2) neutron subshells.
