New results are reported for the ground-state configurations of the Faddeev
-Skyrme model. We started minimization runs on a large set of initial state
s and found topologically new ground states for the Hopf charges Q = 4 and
5, and a symmetry-breaking deformation for Q = 6. The corresponding energie
s improve the fit to the Vakulenko-Kapitanskii behavior E proportional to \
Q\(3/4).
