N. Sombatsompop et Nt. Intawong, Flow properties and entrance corrections of polymer melts by a mobile barrel capillary rheometer, POLYM TEST, 20(1), 2001, pp. 97-103
This paper investigates the flow properties and entrance corrections of a p
olyethylene melt in a capillary rheometer that features the possibilities o
f moving either the piston or the barrel, the latter mode being novel in op
eration. The paper mainly aims to investigate the variations in the flow pr
operties and the entrance corrections due to the mode of operation. It is f
ound that the flow properties and entrance corrections are dependent on the
mode of operation and the die sizes used in the capillary rheometer, this
being thought to be associated with the flows occurring in the capillary rh
eometer. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
