Abstract
The Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II) nitrate complexes with 3-acetylamino-1,2,4-t riazole (L) [ML2(H2O)(2)](NO3)(2) . 2H(2)O (M = Co, Ni), CuL2(NO3)(2), [ML2 (H2O)(2)]Cl-2 (M = Co, Ni, Cu), and [CuL2(H2O)(2)]Br-2 were synthesized. Th e compounds were studied by X-ray crystallography (for CuL2(NO3)(2)), X-ray powder diffraction, electronic and IR spectroscopy, and magnetochemistry. The complexes have distorted octahedral configurations. The ligand (L) is c oordinated to M(II) in the equatorial plane according to a bidentate chelat e mode through the N(4) atom of the heterocycle and the O atom of the carbo xy group. The octahedral configuration is completed either with water molec ules (in Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes) or with nitrate groups (in Cu(II) com plexes).
