Abstract
Reactions of various tertiary amines with 2-propenamido-2-methylpropanesulf onic, 4-propenamido-4-methyl-1,1-dioxotetrahydrothiophene-3-sulfonic. 2-pro penamidoacetic, 6-propenamidohexanoic, and propenoic acids lead to formatio n of the corresponding zwitterionic ammonio sulfonates and carboxylates. De pending on the acid structure, acceptor substituents on the amino nitrogen atom favor or hinder the reaction.
