By application of the high temperature method for spectrocopical VIS-absorp
tion measurements developed by the authors, the position and the height of
the bands of the Co2+(O-2)(4)-complex have been investigated and analysed f
or two chosen silicates. The investigations include a temperature range fro
m room temperature up to a temperature above the liquidus temperature (up t
o 1743 K). The thermic stability (dissociation degree and dissociation enth
alpy) of the Co2+(O-2)(4)-complex in the glassy and the liquid state has be
en determined. With this paper the authors want to contribute to the resera
ch on the chemical structure of liquid slags.
