Abstract
For a liquid crystal (LC)/C-60 fullerene composite, namely (C-60)(n):(C14H1 3N2O) molecular composite, a metallic type conductivity along the composite surface layer into Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM) Pt-tip/composite su rface layer/Pt electrode structure was discovered. Raman scattering, adsorb ance-reflectance infra red (IR) spectra combined with atomic force microsco py (AFM) image analysis of a self-assembly of polymerized (C-60)(n) (n = 13 , 33) cluster chains in modified C14H13N2O molecular nets, which determine the metallic type conductivity of the composite, bring additional informati on about the material structure.
