Abstract
High-field F-19 n.m.r. measurements in Me4NF solutions at 278 K confirm the existence of [AlFi]((3 i)+) complexes for i less than or equal to 5 but in dicate that the widely assumed [AlF6](3) does not form at significant conce ntrations in aqueous solution even at very high F /Al-III ratios.
