Abstract
A mesoporous titanosilicate lacking titanol groups has been prepared by exh austive OH silylation and characterized by Si-29 NMR, by XANES, and by its catalytic activity for cyclohexene epoxidation. Through a comparison of the luminescence of this silylated Ti-MCM-41 titanosilicate with that of the o riginal Ti-MCM-41 before and after calcination, firm experimental support t hat an emission band appearing at lambda (max) = 390 nm is due to the tetra podal framework Ti(OSi=)(4) is provided.
