The individual and coadsorption of the methylene blue dye and catamine AB s
urfactant are investigated. The energies of specific adsorption of the cati
ons of catamine and methylene blue on the silica gel surface (-10kT and -(1
5 +/- 1) kT, respectively), as well as of their surface aggregation (-12kT
and -15kT, respectively), are determined. It is concluded that the specific
adsorption of organic cations is due to the simultaneous formation of seve
ral hydrogen bonds. A new method is proposed to determine the adsorption pa
rameters of ions and surfactant micelles based on the model of the coadsorp
tion of two substances.
