Abstract
Offshore seismic reflection and well data have been used to establish the s tructural style of the offshore of Agadir and to extend the Atlas fabric in to the deepwater domain. The obtained structural subsurface map exhibits a complex architecture resulting from the coexistence of normal, inverse, wre nch faults and folds cored by Triassic salt. The seismic data indicate a st ructural style characterised by narrow, detached folding above Triassic sal t layers. The strong similarities in the style of deformation between the A gadir offshore and the Cap-Tafelney fold belt, suggest that both of them fo rm one continuous belt, which corresponds to the western termination of the Atlas alpine system.
