S. Thareja et V. Balasubramanian, ROLE OF REAGENT VIBRATION IN H-2 CU DYNAMICS, Indian journal of chemistry. Sect. A: Inorganic, physical, theoretical & analytical, 36(4), 1997, pp. 255-259
Quasiclassical trajectory calculations of the dynamics of dissociative
chemisorption of H-2 on Cu on different potential energy surfaces yie
ld qualitatively the same result: vibrational excitation brings down t
he translational threshold for dissociative chemisorption and there is
very little vibrational excitation of H-2 with increase in relative t
ranslation even when the dissociative channel is open. However, despit
e these common features there are differences between the dynamical fe
atures on the different surfaces.
