Abstract
The extraction of Cr(III), Fe(III), Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) has been studied in high molecular weight amines from citric a cid medium. The effect of various factors like the type of amine, natu re of diluent and the concentration of metal, citrate, hydrogen ions a nd amine have been investigated. Quantitative removal of Fe(III) has b een carried out in steel and commercial grade citric acid samples. A r eversed phase column chromatographic study of the above system has als o been reported.
