J. Arnold et al., Measurement of spin observables in neutron-proton elastic scattering Part II: Rescattering parameters, EUR PHY J C, 17(1), 2000, pp. 83-95
A double scattering experiment, performed at the Paul-Scherrer-Institut (PS
I), has measured a large variety of spin observables for free np elastic sc
attering from 260 to 535 MeV in the c.m. angle range from 60 degrees to 164
degrees. Results; are presented for the depolarization parameters D-onon,
D-os " os and D-os " ok, the polarization transfer parameters K-onno, K-os
" so and K-os " ko, and the 3-index parameters N-onkk, N-os " kn, N-os " sn
and N-os " ns. The last four parameters have been measured for the first t
ime in this energy range. These measurements considerably improve the data
base available for neutron-proton scattering and will allow a direct recons
truction of the I = 0 scattering matrix, providing complete information abo
ut the nucleon-nucleon interaction in a model-independent way.
