Ap. Burdukov et al., EXPERIMENTAL-STUDY OF THE COMBUSTION DYNAMICS OF COAL-WATER SUSPENSION DROPS, Combustion, explosion, and shock waves, 32(4), 1996, pp. 412-415
An experimental technique based on laser heating is suggested for inve
stigating the combustion dynamics of small fuel particles with automat
ed measurement and processing of photoelectric and temperature charact
eristics. Using the combustion of a drop of a coal-water suspension as
an example, it is shown that the technique makes it possible to study
the photoelectric and temperature dynamics of combustion of a single
drop, to record the duration of the temperature phases of combustion,
the moment and temperature of the drop's ignition, and to obtain data
on mass burning rate.
