Abstract
We report that increased numbers of megakaryocytes in bone marrow biopsies from patients with myelodysplastic syndromes express the CD34 antigen. A si gnificant correlation was observed between CD34 positivity on megakaryocyte s and a low platelet count, as well as the occurrence of cytogenetic abnorm alities.
