Abstract
Certain mapping methods permit a large finite element to match exactly an a rbitrary curve along one of its edges. However the performance of these met hods has depended on the nature of the parameterization of the curve. A new method is proposed which overcomes this problem by incorporating a re-para meterization. Results for the stored energy of a parallel-plate capacitor m odeled with two curvilinear triangles, and a coaxial transmission line mode led with four Curvilinear triangles, demonstrate the effectiveness of the n ew method.
