Abstract
The reaction of [Ru (cyclo-octadiene) Cl-2] with sodium salt of diisopropox ide dithiophosphoric acid has been carried out in 1:4 molar ratio using dic hloromethane solvent as reaction medium. The product has been isolated in t he solid state and characterised on the basis of elemental analyses, spectr al (IR, electronic, &H-1, P-31 NMR) and magnetic studies. These studies ind icate four coordinated planar geometry for the reported ruthenium (II) comp lex.
