Abstract
Alcoholysis of bimetallic-mu -oxoisopropoxide Bu2Sn(OAc)OAl(OPri)(2) [I] an d Bu2SnO2Al2 (OPri)(4) [II] has been carried out with cyclic alcohols, viz. , cyclopentanol (CyPH), cyclohexanol (CyHxH) and cycloheptanol (CyHpH). The isopropoxy replacement reactions of these compounds I and EI with cyclic a lcohol yield compounds of the type Bu2Sn(OAc)OAl(OPri)(2-n) L-n (where n=1 or 2) and Bu2SnO2Al2(OPri)(4-n)L-n (where n=1 to 3) (L= deprotonated anion of cyclic alcohol). The novel compounds have been characterised on the basi s of IR, H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR, Sn-119 NMR and Al-27 NMR.
