Abstract
4-(2,6-Diamino-4-pyrimidylazo)phenol (DAPP) interacts with copper(II), silv er(I) and palladium (II) to give 1:2 violet, 1:1 violet and 1:1 green compl exes respectively. The Sandell's sensitivity of the colour reaction is 1.1 ng cm(-2) at 535 nm for copper(II), 3.1 ng cm(-2) at 550 nm for silver(I) a nd 5.8 ng cm(-2) at 625 nm for palladium(II). Other optical constants have been evaluated. Effect of foreign ions in the determination of the three me tal ions has also been studied.
