Abstract
A method is proposed for calculating the axial impurity profile in a crysta
llization column and assessing the effectiveness of the purification of a s
ubstance via counterflow melt crystallization. The method takes into accoun
t the combined effect of diffusion and crystallization processes. An approx
imate equation for the separation factor is derived. The results obtained f
or a few systems agree well with experiment.
