Abstract
Seven new species of Gymnopria Loiacono from Brazil are described and illus trated: Gymnopria clavata, G. coriacea, G. distinguenda, G. elongata, G. ma sneri, G. minima and G. pilosa. A generic redescription of Gymnopria and a key to species are given. A cladistic analysis of the nine known species, u sing Szelenviopria Fabritius to root the tree, resulted in four most parsim onious cladograms, the preferred is (Szelenyiopria (G. masneri ((G. minima - G. elongata)((G. distinguenda- G, clavata) (G. pilosa (G. coriacea (G. lu cens - G. pampeana))))))).
