Inflation without potential

Due to the importance of inflation, considerable effort has gone into devel oping different inflationary scenarios. In most of them inflation is driven by a self-interacting scaler field. Here we discuss an alternative way to implement an inflationary stage provided by noncanonical kinetic terms in t he action for the scalar field.
