Rk. Tripathi et al., ACCURATE UNIVERSAL PARAMETERIZATION OF ABSORPTION CROSS-SECTIONS .2. NEUTRON ABSORPTION CROSS-SECTIONS, Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section B, Beam interactions with materials and atoms, 129(1), 1997, pp. 11-15
A recent parameterization (here after referred as paper I, Ref. [4]) o
f absorption cross sections for any system of charged ions collisions
including proton -nucleus collisions, is extended for neutron-nucleus
collisions valid from similar to 1 MeV to a few GeV, thus providing a
comprehensive picture of absorption cross sections for any system of c
ollision pair (charged and/or uncharged). The parameters are associate
d with the physics of the problem. Al lower energies, the optical pote
ntial at the surface is important and the Pauli operator plays an incr
easingly important role at intermediate energies. The agreement betwee
n the calculated and experimental data is better than earlier publishe
d results.
