Abstract
[8,9-H-2(2)]- and [8-H-2]-(2E,6E,10E,14E)-2,6,11,15-tetramethyl-2,6,10,14-h exadecatetraene (digeranyl) (1 and 2) have been synthesized from geraniol b y the condensation of geranyl p-tolylsulfone and reductive desulfonylation in the key steps.
