Abstract
Several studies of analysing powers have shown that they provide informatio n on the reaction mechanism. We have analysed data for (p, He-3) reactions using the Feshbach-Kerman-Koonin multistep theory with the deuteron pick-up model. It is found that the analysing powers are sensitive indicators of t he contributions of successive steps to the reactions.
