Abstract
A general formulation obtained based on an inductive procedure is presented for the stress distribution in multi-material power-law creeping structure s. The ratios of the nominal creep rates for the various materials are expl icitly included in the formulation. It is only necessary to define the effe cts of the stress exponent n. The results are generalized to the case where n varies between materials. The formulation allows the effects of the mate rial properties to be easily assessed and the results of parametric analyse s to be presented in compact and easily manageable forms.
