A cluster analysis of scores of 1961 children on the Sensory Integration an
d Praxis (SIPT) tests tons performed to explore subgroupings of children re
ferred for SIFT testing, and to provide information concerning the validity
of the six profiles currently used in the SIFT interpretation process. The
results yielded a five rather than a six cluster solution, including the f
ollowing profiles: Low-average Bilateral Integration and Sequencing; Dyspra
xia; Generalized Sensory Integration Dysfunction and Dyspraxia-Severe; Gene
ralized Sensory Integration Dysfunction and Dyspraxia-Moderate, and Average
Sensory Integration and Praxis. Clinical implications of the results of th
is study related to SIFT interpretation are discussed.
