Abstract
The one photon and two photon optogalvanic spectra of argon and neon have b een investigated in the near infrared region between 735 and 781 nm. About 35 transitions have been recorded by illuminating a hollow cathode discharg e with a pulsed Ti:sapphire laser. These transitions can serve as a conveni ent way to calibrate Ti:sapphire laser or optical parametric oscillator rad iation in this important spectral range. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V.
