Abstract
Many experiments in atomic physics require two laser beams with a controlla ble difference in frequencies. In this paper, we report on realizing this g oal using a technique where an electro-optic modulator sideband is filtered through a cavity and injected into a diode laser, in a novel configuration yielding very high feedback isolation without sacrificing access to the ou tput power of the diode laser. The advantages of this approach over alterna tive techniques for injection locking are discussed. (C) 2000 Elsevier Scie nce B.V. All rights reserved.
