Abstract
The fadia method has been recently introduced in luminescence as one that m ay potentially resolve the problem of anomalous fading and age shortfalls i n IRSL dating of sediments. This method takes advantage of the differential fading rates of single feldspar grains and allows one to extrapolate to ze ro fading. This paper describes step by step the protocol used in the Montr eal laboratory. The application of the method is shown to be hampered by th e occurrence of faintly luminescent feldspar minerals, and/or unbleached gr ains in the dated sediment samples.
