Reactions of tetraphenylporphin (H2TPP) and its N-methyl derivative with Cu
(II), Cd(II), Co(II), Zn(II), Hg(II), and Ni(II) chelate complexes are stud
ied. 8-Hydroxyquinoline and alpha -nitroso-beta -naphthol are chosen as che
lating ligands. The details of complexing are established for metalloporphy
rins in dimethyl sulfoxide. The reaction rates and activation energies are
measured. The order of reactivity change for oxyquinolates and alpha -nitro
so-beta -naphtholates in the reactions with H2TPP and its N-methyl derivati
ve are established.
