Abstract
A number of 6(7)-substituted 3-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1,5-dinitro-3-azabicyclo[3. 3.1]non-6-enes were synthesized by reduction of m-dinitrobenzenes with pota ssium tetrahydridoborate, followed by the Mannich reaction with formaldehyd e and 2-aminoethanol. The structure of 1,4-bis(1,5-dinitro-3-azabicyclo[3.3 .1]non-6-en-3-yl)butane was proved by X-ray analysis.
