Abstract
Non-local theory for composite is applied to solve the Mode III crack probl em under impact loading. The composite is a laminate made up of two differe nt orthotropic layers. Based on the classical boundary conditions, all quan tities are expressed in terms of a single unknown function. Integral transf orm is used to reduce the problem to a system of dual integral equations. T he solution is obtained by using the Copson's method [1], which can be gene ralized to include arbitrary loading applied to the crack. (C) 2000 Elsevie r Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
