We discuss the notion of noncommutative symmetries based on Hopf algebras i
n the geometric models constructed within the framework of noncommutative g
eometry. We introduce and discuss several notions of non-commutative symmet
ries and outline the construction specific examples, for instance, finite a
lgebras and the application of symmetries in the derivation of the Dirac op
erator for the noncommutative torus.
