Abstract
The optimal performance of an endoreversible Carnot heat pump under th e condition of non-linear heat transfer with its surroundings is inves tigated. The relationship between the coefficient of performance (COP) and the heating load of the heat pump is derived. The result provides additional criteria for use in the study and performance evaluation o f heat pumps. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
